สมัชชาคนจน แถลงการณ์ จี้ ปล่อยตัวแกนนำปชช.ปลดแอกทันที ไม่งั้นเจอปักหลักชุมนุมยืดเยื้อที่กรุงเทพฯ
เมื่อวันที่ 20 สิงหาคม สมัชชาคนจน (Assembly of the Poor) เผยแพร่แถลงกรณี นายบารมี ชัยรัตน์ ผู้ประสานงานสมัชชาคนจน หนึ่งในผู้ต้องหาจากกรณีเข้าร่วมชุมนุมปลดแอก วันที่ 18 ก.ค. ถูกเจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจเข้าจับกุมหน้าวัดบวรนิเวศ ก่อนถูกพาตัวไป สน.สำราญราษฎร์ รวมถึงการจับกุมผู้ร่วมปราศรัยม็อบเยาวชนปลดแอกอีกหลายคน โดย แถลงการณ์ สมัชชาคนจน ฉบับที่ 1 ระบุว่า
สมัชชาคนจนสนับสนุนข้อเรียกร้องของเยาวชนปลดแอก และ เรียกร้องให้ยุติการดำเนินคดีต่อนายบารมี ชัยรัตน์ และแกนนำนักเรียนนักศึกษาทุกคน
ประเทศไทยกำลังอยู่ในช่วงหัวเลี้ยวหัวต่อทางการเมืองที่สำคัญอีกครั้งหนึ่ง เมื่อรัฐบาลสืบทอดอำนาจ คสช. ได้ใช้กฎหมายเป็นเครื่องมือคุกคามปิดปากคนที่วิพากษ์วิจารณ์รัฐบาล ไม่ว่าจะเป็นนักศึกษา ผู้นำแรงงาน นักกิจกรรมทางการเมือง รวมถึงผู้นำของคนจน และสมัชชาคนจนเห็นว่า ไม่อาจจะยอมรับการคุกคามประชาชนได้อีกต่อไป
รัฐบาลของพลเอกประยุทธ จันทร์โอชา กดขี่ข่มเหงพี่น้องคนจนมาโดยตลอด เช่น ไล่รื้ออพยพคนจนออกจากที่ทำกิน แย่งชิงทรัพยากรดิน-น้ำ-ป่า เพื่อสร้างเขื่อน เพื่อทำเขตเศรษฐกิจพิเศษ และอื่นๆ ไม่เคยแก้ไขปัญหาของคนจนอย่างจริงใจ ผู้นำของเราถูกเจ้าหน้าที่รัฐติดตาม คุกคาม ข่มขู่ สกัดกั้นไม่ให้เรียกร้องความเป็นธรรม รวมถึงถูกกลั่นแกล้งทางกฎหมายต่างๆ นานา เพื่อสร้างภาระ และกีดกันการเข้าถึงความยุติธรรม ดังปรากฎการณ์การจับตัวในยามวิกาลเช่นนี้
เมื่อรัฐธรรมนูญฉบับปี 2560 มีผลบังคับใช้แล้ว นักศึกษา คนงาน เกษตรกร และคนจนอื่นๆ ซึ่งตระหนักในสิทธิและเสรีภาพทางเมืองตามระบอบประชาธิปไตย ได้ชุมนุมเรียกร้องให้รัฐบาลแก้ไขปัญหาที่หมักหมมมานาน จนกระทั่งเกิดการชุมนุมใหญ่ของนักศึกษาที่นำโดยกลุ่มเยาวชนปลดแอก เมื่อวันที่ 18 กรกฎาคม 2563 ณ อนุสาวรีย์ประชาธิปไตย โดยมีข้อเรียกร้อง 3 ข้อ ซึ่งนายบารมี ชัยรัตน์ เลขาธิการของสมัชชาคนจน ได้เข้าร่วมสังเกตการณ์การชุมนุม และได้มีโอกาสปราศรัยในเวทีดังกล่าว
สมัชชาคนจนเห็นว่า ข้อเรียกร้องทั้ง 3 ประการของกลุ่มเยาวชนปลดแอก สอดคล้องกับจุดยืนของสมัชชาคนจน เพราะพี่น้องคนจนถูกผู้มีอำนาจในนามของรัฐข่มขู่คุกคามเสมอมา เราสนับสนุนให้ยุบสภาเพื่อให้มีผู้แทนราษฎรและรัฐบาลที่มาจากประชาชน เข้ามาแก้ไขปัญหาของคนจน และเราต้องการรัฐธรรมนูญใหม่ ที่เป็น “ประชาธิปไตยที่กินได้ การเมืองที่เห็นหัวคนจน” อย่างที่เราเรียกร้องเสมอมา
แต่ขณะนี้ นายบารมี ชัยรัตน์ เลขาธิการของสมัชชาคนจน ถูกจับกุมดำเนินคดีเพียงเพราะต้องการใช้สิทธิและเสรีภาพตามกฎหมายในการเข้าร่วมการชุมนุมโดยสงบดังกล่าว ซึ่งการกระทำของรัฐเป็นการคุกคามสิทธิและเสรีภาพของประชาชนอันเป็นหลักการของระบอบประชาธิปไตย
สมัชชาคนจนขอสนับสนุนข้อเรียกร้องทั้ง 3 ประการของกลุ่มเยาวชนปลดแอก และเรียกร้องให้ปล่อยตัวนายบารมี ชัยรัตน์ และแกนนำที่ถูกจับกุมในทันทีโดยไม่มีเงื่อนไข พร้อมทั้งยุติการคุกคามดำเนินคดีแกนนำทุกคน สมัชชาคนจนพร้อมที่จะเคลื่อนไหว และปักหลักชุมนุมยืดเยื้อที่กรุงเทพมหานคร หากไม่มีการดำเนินการใดๆ ในทันที ต่อข้อเรียกร้องของเรา

Assembly of the Poor Supports the 3-point Demand of Free Youth and Calls for the Stop of Lawsuit against Baramee Chaiyarat and other leaders
Thailand is at another political crisis now that the government decides to use legal charges to silence the dissidents, including students, worker leaders, political activists, and the grassroots leaders. We, Assembly of the Poor, will no longer tolerate such intimidation.
Government of Prayuth Chan-ocha has always oppressed us. We are forced to leave our land. Our resources, land, water and forests are grabbed for dam building, for special economic zones, etc. The government is never sincere to solve our issues. Our leaders are followed, threatened and harassed. We are blocked when raising our voices to demand justice. We are legally abused and unable to access to justice. Arrest at nighttime, like in this case, is included.
When the B.E.2560 Constitution is enforced, students, workers, farmers, the poor, and others who know of their rights and freedom organized demonstrations to urge the government to solve the chronic problems we are facing. On July 18th, 2020, a demonstration at Democracy Monument in Bangkok was held, led by Free Youth who placed the 3-point Demand. Mr. Baramee Chaiyarat, General Secretary of Assembly of the Poor, also participated and made the public speech in the demonstration.
Assembly of the Poor sees that the 3-point Demand of Free Youth is relevant to our position. Our fellows, the poor, have always been intimidated by the state. We also want the dissolution of parliament. We want MPs and government from people’s election so that they can solve our problems. We want a new constitution that reflects our slogan “Democracy where People can Eat, Politics where the Poor Matter”
But now Mr. Baramee Chaiyarat, our General Secretary, is arrested just because he wants to exercise his rightful rights and freedom to peaceful assembly. Arresting him is the violation of rights and freedom which are the foundation of the democratic rule.
Assembly of the Poor expresses our support the Free Youth’s 3-Point Demand. We call for the immediate and unconditional release of Baramee Chaiyarat and other arrested leaders and the stop of legal charges against them. We are ready to take actions and set the prolonged demonstration camp in Bangkok if our demands are not met.
